Dividing Sectors and I Got My Package

Hey!

So as always, the first week of a new change is packed with a ton of things to do. The first week with Elder Sales was great. He is a new zone leader so I`m trying to help him adjust to all the things we have to do and/or put up with. We had to divide the sectors here in Machalì because they added two more sister missionaries here. We ended up losing a little more than half of our investigators. Then, on Tuesday, we had a lesson with a family of three investigators that said they don`t want anything else from us so we aren`t going to pass by. Now we are just contacting and asking everyone for references because we don`t have very many people to teach hahaha. We got to go to Rancagua to a reunion with the leaders of the mission and President Harris. It was a long, but awesome meeting because we got to learn about how to work better with the members in our ward to be able to get references and teach them with the families. We are trying to put it into practice to be able to find more  people to teach, and it should be super easy since we have more then 250 people that come to church. The problem is just finding all of their houses hahaha. Its ok though. The week was a little slow and other than the meetings and the contacting, there really isn`t much new to report. We are just trying not to get sick now as the weather is changing. I got my package today! I haven`t opened it yet, but we are going to take it home today. In the countdown until I go home, we finished 4 months this last week so now I`m coming home in less than 4 months. The mission is flying by, but I love it so I`ll make the best of it while I can. I love you all and hope you have a great General Conference!

New Companion in Machali

Hey!

Soooooooo I may not have mentioned it, but tomorrow we have transfers again! This last change went by soooo fast! Now I´m going to have a new companion, but I´m staying in Machalí. My new companion is named Elder Sales. He´s from Brazil. I´m finally going to learn portugues. I thought that President was going to drop me and let me train, but I guess the Lord has a different plan for me, at least for six more weeks. I´m going to stay as Zone Leader in the Zone Rancagua II. I´m actually really excited because the sector is finally beginning to progress a lot. This week we saw a miracle. We went to our weekly coordination meeting with our ward mission leader and he told us about a family that we needed to visit named Margarita Muñuz. We had to go up a huge hill on the bikes to get to her house, but we finally found it. We visited them and they didn´t have time to share anything, but we invited her husband Boris to play soccer with us. He came on Saturday in the night to play and it was awesome. Then, on Sunday, the whole family (of three) came to church! Margarita is less active and Boris isn´t a member so it was cool that they only needed a little push to come to Christ. The other day we also found a family contacting that is super awesome. About twenty years ago they had the missionaries over every day, but then they left and never came back. We found them knocking doors and now they are investigating the church! I love the mission. We are doing awesome and feeling great. I should get my package this week or the one after if it comes in time so I willl be looking for it. I love you and hope you have a great week.

Manuel, Dylan and Teaching the Doctrine of Christ

Hey!

This week was pretty crazy. We were working pretty hard in Machali and FINALLY have something to show for it. We have two people that are thinking about getting baptized. One is named Manuel. He`s 86 years old. The other is named Dylan. He`s 9, but we are reactivating his family, so its cool that we are going to be able to teach all of them the lessons. This week I also got to go on exchanges in Manzanal in Rancagua. I went with an Elder named Elder Manzano. He`s from Mexico. We had a great time. We got to teach someone about the doctrine of Christ. That`s one of my favorite things to teach. It has to do with how we need faith, repentance, baptism, the gift of the Holy Ghost, and to endure to the end, and if we do that, we can live with God again. I love this message because it gives so many people hope when it seems like there isn`t any and it really lets them feel God`s love. Thanks to a ton of trainings from President Harris and a ton of studying, I have grown an understanding and love for the gospel of Jesus Christ. I have learned to appreciate the Atonement a lot more in my life and use it for changing my heart and becoming a better person every day. We had Stake Conference the other day. Someone talked about Spiritual Self-Sufficience. It was such a good talk. It talked about how if we do the small, easy things, we can be self sufficient, but often times the small, easy things are too easy so we don`t do them. And then we go inactive. I learned that we just need to keep reading the scriptures and praying everyday and going to church and everything will be ok. I love you guys and hope you have a great week.

Do You Know What Comes After Fall? Home.

Hello!

The weather is changing. It is starting to get cold in the mornings. Fall is coming. And you know what comes after fall? Home. It seems to be coming up so fast, its crazy.  We are working hard and trusting in the Lord so things are good. The mission is awesome. This week was a little slow. We are focusing on inviting everyone to baptism because we don´t have very much in our sector right now. We invited a few people to baptism this week, but it was wierd because nobody actually accepted. Elder Gutierrez and I are working hard. I went on exchanges this week with an Elder named Elder Shumway (not the same Elder Shumway that was my companion in Buin) and it went really well. It was awesome because he is a little shy and new in the mission, but we just got down and worked hard and we saw so many miracles. We actually got lost because it was my first time alone in the sector. We ended up just going up a hill that I had never been up before. There we contacted one house that didn´t want anything, but referred us to a house on her same street. We contacted it and found a family of less active members and people that aren´t members and now we are teaching the whole family. One of them came to church the other day. It was a great miracle because it just happened out of nothing. Other than that we had a few lessons, but the week was a little slow. We had a few lessons and helped a lot of people. We invited a ton of people to baptism so we should have some more success this week. Sorry for the short letter. I love you all and hope that you are all well. See ya next week.
